Welcome back to our Get to Know the Blogger series. I have been speaking with Liz all about her blog Elizabeth Lucy.
Hi Liz, thanks for taking part! Can you tell us a little bit about what Elizabeth Lucy is all about?
Elizabeth Lucy is a place where you can find my favourite places to eat to home decor to days out with my family to baking! Essentially a space of all my favourite things!
How long have you been blogging for, and what made you get into blogging to start with?
I started a blog back in 2010 and it was more of a journal of how my life was at the point of time, I loved writing and having a place to put my opinions & feelings! I then started taking blogging a bit more seriously in 2016 and that’s when I created Elizabeth Lucy!
Do you have any particular topics you like writing about most?
Food is definitely a firm favourite, and Bournemouth blogger events are always fun to write up and edit all the pictures!
Favourite Social Media Platform?
Instagram by far – the follow/unfollow game drives me insane but I love seeing everyone’s pictures and editing my own for it!
What are your favourite things about Blogging?
I love having that outlet to pour everything into, and I’ve made some incredible friends through blogging.
Are there any aspects of the industry you don’t enjoy as much?
I don’t enjoy the entitlement some people have and the bitchiness – but I think you get that in any industry.
What has been your highlight so far?
Definitely joining the Bournemouth bloggers network and making some amazing friends, that and getting called press at camp Bestival! That was definitely a highlight!
Can you share a post with us that you are most proud of?
I’m feeling proud of my current Blogtober posts, I love the content I’m putting out as October is one of my fave months anyway!
Out of the events you have attended with the Bournemouth Bloggers so far, which has stood out for you and why?
The cosy club has definitely been on of my favourite, the food was incredible and I loved getting behind the bar and making cocktails! Centre VR was also great, especially as we didn’t really know what to expect and ended up having the best evening!
If you could work with any one brand on a collaboration, who would it be and why?
Any one brand, it would probably be Lush! I have been a huge fan of them for a very long time, so to work with them would be incredible!
What is your favourite thing about living in Bournemouth?
I love living near both the sea and the forest, plus there’s plenty of things to do around us!
You create video content on YouTube as well as writing your blog, which medium do you prefer?
That’s hard, because I love the editing side of YouTube but I think I prefer my blog as I also love photography and writing.
Do you have any advice for thinking about writing a blog, or just starting out blogging?
Write about what you love, not about something just because others write about it, and don’t start a blog because you think it’ll be a quick money starter because it doesn’t work like that!
Who are your favourite bloggers and/or YouTubers?
I love Poppy Deyes blog, I love her photos! And Victoria from in the frow – I’m obsessed with all her content from her travel videos to her stunning Instagram!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
I’d like to see my family grow with another little one, I’d love to be working for myself or working from home with my blog and to be happy!
